Make sure prior to the job you discuss price, process and have it in writing. Our hot water tank needed a new valve which was covered under warranty. Our service maintence package with Dor Mar covered the first hour of labor for the repair. They sent me a bill for the hour labor it took them but I was told it was covered. Very discouraged by this and will be cautious with the next repair. Not good practice especially to a customer who bought the hot water tank through Dor Mar.

Our records indicate you had discussed the price for the parts call before excepting the estimate for the work. Your labor for the Daignostic call was covered under your Service Contract. We appologize for any misunderstanding and hope you continue with Dor-Mar!

Dor Mar sent out a employee to drain my hot water heater as part of a maintenance program that I paid for. That employee spent most of the time walking around the inside of my house (my hot water tank is in the basement with an outside access only) taking pictures of all of my plumbing. He did not ask to do this he just started taking pictures saying he was supposed to. He opened my cabinet under my sink and wanted to know why I had a bucket there. (it was to carry cleaning supplies in when cleaning around the house)Then he told me that there was a problem with my tank since he emptied it and it was leaking. I asked him how much it would cost to fix it and he immediately said $2700.00. I told him just to turn the water off to the tank and to just leave. He had placed a bucket under where it was leaking, and he said I won't have hot water. If he turned it off. He then tightens the screw a little more and then it quit leaking.Another problem I had was I told him he could park beside the house (I showed him where) but for some reason he just wanted to walk through the front door and through the house and then out the back door. He did this about 3-4 times.Finally, when he was done, I opened the gate so that he wouldn't walk through my house again and he went straight to the front door saying he was so sorry, but he had lost all of the pictures that he took and had to come in to retake them all again. At this point I was ready to call the sheriff to escort him off the property. I did let him take the pictures and finally he was off.He was polite when talking to me I have no issues there, but all the other stuff was unnecessary... He was there to drain my hot water tank not to do a photo shoot. I will try to come to the office on Monday I am still extremely upset about this. IT IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!

The plumbing maintenance includes a check on the entire plumbing of the home and the flushing of your hot water tank, we do apologize if that was not properly explained to you when your service was booked. It is also unfortunate the tech couldn't follow the directions you offered to not have to walk through the home and we apologize for that, over all we hope this gives you some ese on what was done by the tech as he was just doing his job.

The service was great. But they don't honor their service windows. My service windows was 12-4 and I get a message at 9:40 that the tech was on the way. I had to rearrange my schedule to fit in the cleaning. Luckily I was close by and could make it to the house in time.
